Some features explaining why you should prefer wood at your windows
WOOD IS NATURAL
Wood has been most commonly used in constructions for centuries. Doors and windows are the places where wood is used most frequently. Wood is natural. As a construction material, wood is one of the exceptional materials that can be used up to its tiniest sizes.
WOOD IS DURABLE
It has a long life period. Wooden structures standing for centuries are the most beautiful and clear evidence for this. It is possible and easy to repair. It does not emit poisonous gasses when it burns and it continues to stay stable even after having burned.
WOOD IS HEALTY
It is healthy. Natural wood breathes. It is not exposed to materials which threatens human health at any stage of its production process. During the painting processes, the wood is threatened only by water-based products.
The use of wood prevents the deterioration of air quality, the pollution of inner spaces, the formation of electromagnetic areas, the release of harmful emissions and increases biothermal breathability.
WOOD IS ECONOMIC
Wooden windows are often compared with uPVC windows on price, however, considering only the initial cost is misleading. The lifetime of those materials has significant differences. Unlike others, wood can be repaired easily, which makes it superior to many other artificial material in terms of lifetime. Keep in mind that, there are wooden structures that have survived for centuries throughout history.
It is superior to industrially produced materials in terms of thermal insulation. Wood itself is an insulation material. It is used as solid profiles for window production, so it does not require details such as thermal breaks or extra cells in order to increase its thermal insulation value.
The wooden structure of the windows has no hollow sections as is the case of metal frames; this feature is highly important in the improvement of sound proofing. Extensive use of wooden details in concert halls are not because of its beauty only but also for improving acoustics of the hall.
WOOD IS WELCOMING
Wood makes the environment “warmer”, where it is used. The doors and windows we see around, even if they are not made of wood, are claiming to be very similar to wood. But the natural touch and warmth of wood we deserve is only possible with real wood; not with imitations of wood.
WOOD IS AESTHETIC
Wooden windows matches perfectly with other furniture in a house. Limitless surface finishes are available, which can cover any aesthetic requirement. For instance, it is possible to obtain an aged look of wood with a special surface treatment; or a modern look, on the contrary, with a contemporary opaque finish.
WOOD IS SUSTAINABLE
The trees are cut as raw material, is a point at which the use of wood is most criticized. Actually this is misleading, because a large part of the wood material that is traded in the world are forest products, where only trees that have reached a certain age are cut and new sprouts are planted regularly. Since oxygen formation of these young trees are much higher, this is a benefit for the environment also. This is a process where sustainability is always supported and kept under control by certifications.
WOOD IS ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY
Wood is a part of nature and they consume nothing more than water and solar energy to grow. Moreover, the energy that is required in the production of laminated wood, is 300 kWh/t, and this is very low compared to the amount of energy required for the preparation of other materials (for the production of aluminum, 72500 kWh/t of energy is needed, whereas for steel, 3500 kWh/t of energy is needed).
Why Aluminum Windows?
Basic Advantages of Aluminum at Window Construction
ALUMINUM IS ROBUST
Aluminum is a robust material by it is nature. It is resistant to weather conditions like rain, hail, UV
ALUMINUM IS LIGHTWEIGHT
It is lightweight compared to many other metals, which helps it to be machined easily.
Why Wood/Aluminum Systems?
Perfect blend of two optimized materials
Wood/Aluminum systems are at optimal balance for window production. Wood, on the inside, gives the main character with superior insulation properties. On the other hand, aluminum on the outside, protects wood from external weather conditions.
Wood/Aluminum windows are proven to have the longest lifetime among different window types.
